Small Business Recovery Grant
New grants of between £1,000 and £3,000 are now available to small businesses across the Marches to help them recover from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The grant can fund professional help or small pieces of equipment or technology. There are two funding streams one for the Visitor Economy(Tourism) sector and the other for the Wider Economy.
Unfortunately, due to the high number of applications, processing is taking longer than anticipated. We are now looking to complete the assessments as follows;
Wider Economy: Friday 20th November 2020
Visitor Economy: Wednesday 25th November 2020
We do apologise for this inconvenience. We will be in touch in due course.
The cut off for the Wider Economy funding allocation has almost been reached so applications can no longer be accepted for these businesses after 5pm today (Thursday 15th October).
Please note that Visitor Economy (tourism) businesses can still apply until further notice.
The applications received up to the cut off will be reviewed within the 20 day timeframe and businesses will be notified directly on the outcome of their application.
Please note we are unable to provide status updates or answer specific queries during this time.
If there are not enough successful applications for the funds made available then we will re-open and this will be promoted.
Want to know more about the grant?
The grants have been funded by the European Regional Development Fund and will be administered by Telford & Wrekin Council, alongside partners in the Marches Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), Marches Growth Hub and Herefordshire and Shropshire councils
We want to help as many businesses as possible, however, we expect demand to exceed the amount of funding available as has been the case in other areas across the UK.
It will therefore be administered on a first come first serve basis and it is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that everything requested is provided at the point of application.
Your business must meet all of the following criteria in order to apply for the recovery business grant.
Located in Herefordshire, Shropshire or Telford & Wrekin
Trading for 12 months or more (and be reliant on visitors if a tourism business)
Able to demonstrate an adverse effect from Covid-19 e.g. drop in sales/visitor numbers
Employ fewer than 10 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
